Camilla 12 Light Crystal Semi-Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Chrome

The Camilla is a 1000mm x 700mm crystal semi-flush ceiling light with 12 GU10 downlight bulbs recessed into a polished chrome ceiling plate, surrounded by cascading strands of crystal beads and larger cut crystal spheres that hang in draped, wave-like formations. The strands are fixed at both ends to create a tunnelled wave effect, with the crystal spheres suspended within the curves of the waves to catch and refract light from the 12 downlighters above.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and master bedrooms with ceiling heights of 2.4-2.7m, the Camilla sits 640mm below the ceiling and works as both functional downlighting and decorative centrepiece. The 12 GU10 bulbs (sold separately) provide the functional illumination, while the crystal strands diffuse and scatter that light across the room as ambient wash. The semi-flush mounting keeps the fitting closer to the ceiling than a full pendant, making it suitable for standard UK ceiling heights where a deep chandelier would dominate the space.

Each crystal strand is strung with small faceted beads interspersed with larger 40-60mm crystal spheres, creating multiple points of light refraction. The polished chrome frame reflects light back into the crystals and adds a mirror-bright accent that contrasts with the translucent crystal. At 17.5kg the fitting requires secure fixing to a joist or ceiling reinforcement — the weight comes from the density of the crystal elements and the substantial metal frame needed to support them. The wave configuration means the crystals hang in scalloped curves rather than straight vertical drops, giving the fitting a softer silhouette than traditional tiered chandeliers.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Camilla takes 12 GU10 bulbs up to 50W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED GU10 bulbs between 5-7W and 2700K-3000K, which provides functional downlighting while the crystals scatter ambient light across the room.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use dimmable GU10 bulbs. The fitting itself has no built-in dimmer — dimming is controlled by your wall switch and the bulbs must be marked as dimmable to avoid flickering.

What ceiling height is needed?

The fitting drops 640mm below the ceiling, so it works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In a 2.4m room the base of the crystal strands will sit approximately 1.76m above floor level, which is high enough to walk under without obstruction.

Does the 17.5kg weight require special ceiling reinforcement?

Yes. At 17.5kg the Camilla must be fixed directly to a ceiling joist or to a reinforced mounting plate secured across multiple joists. Standard plasterboard fixings will not support this weight safely. Check your ceiling construction before ordering if you are unsure of the mounting options available.
