Cambridge Wall Light - Polished Chrome IP44

The Cambridge is a single-arm bathroom wall light with a polished chrome rectangular backplate, stepped chrome arm and a tall opal glass cylinder shade. The fitting houses a G9 bulb (3W LED supplied) positioned vertically inside the glass, which diffuses the light evenly through the opal material without harsh shadows or glare points.

Designed for bathroom installation either side of a mirror or above a vanity unit, the Cambridge carries an IP44 rating, making it suitable for zones 2 and 3 in UK bathrooms where it may be exposed to moisture or steam but is not in direct contact with water jets. The 360mm height gives vertical coverage across typical mirror widths, while the 112mm projection keeps the fitting clear of protruding mirror edges and cabinet doors.

The polished chrome finish provides a bright metallic surface that reflects bathroom lighting and pairs with chrome taps, shower fittings and mirror frames commonly found in both traditional and contemporary bathrooms. The stepped rectangular details on both the backplate and the arm give the fitting a classical proportion that sits comfortably alongside period-style sanitaryware without looking heavy or ornate. The opal glass cylinder is removable for bulb changes and cleaning.

What bathroom zones is the IP44 rating suitable for?

IP44 protection allows installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3, which covers areas outside the bath/shower enclosure and beyond 60cm from water outlets. It is not rated for zone 0 (inside the bath or shower) or zone 1 (directly above the bath/shower to 2.25m height).

Does it come with a bulb?

Yes. The Cambridge includes a 3W LED G9 bulb at 3000K warm white. The fitting accepts any standard G9 bulb up to 3W maximum wattage, so you can replace it with a different colour temperature if preferred.

How is the glass shade removed for bulb changes?

The opal glass cylinder lifts off the chrome housing once you unscrew or release the retaining collar at the base. Always switch off the circuit at the consumer unit before removing the shade to access the G9 bulb.

Can I fit two either side of a mirror?

Yes. The Cambridge is designed to be fitted in pairs either side of a bathroom mirror, with typical spacing of 500-700mm between centres depending on mirror width. Ensure the circuit can accommodate both fittings and that cable runs are planned before installation.
