Description

The Calice is a 48cm diameter pendant light with a wide, shallow conical shade in matte white steel housing an integrated 16W LED. The LED outputs 1200 lumens at 3000K across a 120° beam angle, providing even downlight distribution without visible bulbs or fixings. The shade's shallow profile, approximately 10-12cm in depth. Gives a clean horizontal presence when viewed from seating height.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and breakfast bars in modern and minimalist interiors, the Calice suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher. The adjustable drop ranges from 450mm minimum to 2000mm maximum, allowing the pendant to be positioned 700-800mm above a dining surface or island worktop depending on ceiling height. The 480mm diameter provides sufficient spread for tables 1200-1600mm long without overwhelming smaller spaces.

The matte white powder-coated finish diffuses light internally while reflecting minimal glare externally, making the fitting comfortable to sit beneath during meals. The wide beam angle reduces pooling and gives a more uniform distribution than narrow-beam pendants of similar diameter. At 1.8kg the fitting requires a standard ceiling rose rated for its weight, and the integrated LED is non-dimmable on mains voltage. The white finish pairs with Scandinavian, contemporary and architectural interiors where clean lines and neutral palettes dominate.

No. The integrated LED operates on mains voltage (220-240V) and is not compatible with dimmer switches. The output is fixed at 1200 lumens at 3000K.

What table size does the 48cm diameter suit?

The 480mm diameter works well over dining tables 1200-1600mm long and kitchen islands up to 1800mm. For longer tables, consider positioning two Calice pendants in a row rather than a single fitting.

How low should it hang above a dining table?

Most installations position the shade 700-800mm above the table surface. This provides adequate headroom for seated diners while keeping the light source close enough to the table for effective task illumination. Adjust to suit ceiling height and personal preference during installation.

Can the drop length be adjusted after installation?

The drop is adjustable between 450mm and 2000mm during installation. Once fitted and the cable concealed, shortening the drop requires removing the pendant and re-adjusting the cable length through the ceiling rose.
