Description
The Elara is an 850mm semi-flush ceiling light built from two layered tiers of vertical alabaster panels held in a brass frame. Ten G9 lamp sockets sit inside the drum, lighting the natural Spanish alabaster from within so the veining and mineral variation of each panel reads through the stone. The total height from ceiling to lower edge is 225mm, keeping the fitting close to the ceiling line while still giving real visual mass.
Designed for rooms where a hanging chandelier won't fit, the Elara suits hallways, landings, bedrooms, dressing rooms and kitchens with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.7m. The 850mm diameter gives enough scale to anchor a 4-5m room without dropping below head height, making it a workable alternative to a pendant in homes with standard or lower ceiling heights. Mounting is via the twin brass canopies fixed directly to the ceiling.
Each alabaster panel is cut from solid stone with a softly honed finish, so panels vary in translucency, veining pattern and tonal density across the fitting. The upper tier sits proud of the lower tier, creating a stepped silhouette and a defined shadow line between the two rings of panels. The brass framework, finished in a warm soft brass tone, holds the panels through visible decorative screws at the top and bottom edges, giving the assembly a structured, architectural look rather than a smoothed-over decorative one.

Frequently Asked
Is the Elara suitable for low ceilings?
Yes. At 225mm total height it is a semi-flush fitting rather than a pendant, so it suits ceilings from around 2.3m upwards. It works in rooms where a hanging chandelier would drop too low, including hallways, bedrooms and landings.
What bulbs does it take?
The Elara takes ten G9 capsule bulbs (sold separately). G9 LED bulbs in 2700K-3000K warm white are the typical choice, as they bring out the warm tones and veining in the natural alabaster.
Will the alabaster panels look identical?
No. Each panel is cut from solid Spanish alabaster, so veining, mineral inclusions and translucency vary between panels and between individual fittings. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect, and is most visible when the lamps are switched on.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water, but avoid soaking the stone. Do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners, as alabaster is porous and softer than marble.
