Description

The Caldrin is a 500mm circular chandelier built from natural Spanish alabaster panels arranged in two tiers around a radial brass frame. Six E14 lamps sit at the centre of the drum, casting light outward through the stone panels and downward through the open base. The fitting measures 330mm in height (excluding the brass suspension rod) and combines a soft white and brass finish on the metalwork.

The tiered panel arrangement suits dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance halls where a horizontal drum profile reads better than a tall multi-tier chandelier. The 500mm diameter works well above tables of 1.2-1.6m length, with a typical hanging height of 700-800mm above the table surface. The brass canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses, and the suspension rod conceals the cable run from canopy to drum.

Each alabaster panel is cut from solid stone, so veining patterns, tonal shifts and areas of denser mineral content vary between individual panels and between individual chandeliers. The honed surface keeps the natural translucency intact, allowing warmer light to glow through the thinner sections while denser areas remain more opaque. Slender brass arms radiate from the central hub to fix each panel, with small brass studs visible at the panel mounts adding a defined detail against the pale stone.
