This verdigris cage guard is a protective accessory designed to fit Elstead's Sheldon and Somerton outdoor brass lanterns. The metal cage sits over the glass panels of the lantern, providing impact protection whilst allowing light to pass through the open framework. The verdigris finish is a weathered copper patina in muted blue-green tones, naturally developed on copper or applied as a painted finish to replicate the aged appearance of oxidised metal.

The cage is designed for outdoor lantern installations where glass panels face exposure to garden activity, coastal weather or high-traffic areas. It fits directly over the existing glass panels without requiring removal or modification of the base lantern.
