Description
The Caelith Small is a 400mm carved alabaster wall light built around a slender vertical panel of natural Spanish alabaster, framed by a brushed brass surround. A single G4 capsule bulb sits behind the stone and casts light through the alabaster, illuminating the natural veining and mineral inclusions. The lower portion of the stone is left rough-cut against a polished brass back plate, exposing a textured fracture line where the light spills out.
The compact 150mm width and 100mm projection make this a wall light for tighter applications: either side of a bed in place of a table lamp, along a narrow hallway, flanking a bathroom mirror outside the IP zones, or repeated as a run along a corridor or stairwell. The slim form sits close to the wall without crowding circulation space, and the downward light leak from the rough-cut edge gives a subtle wash onto the wall below.
Each alabaster panel is cut from a different section of stone, so the veining pattern, tonal range and rough lower edge differ between individual pieces. The fitting combines solid copper and aluminium internals with the natural alabaster face, giving a substantial feel against the wall. The brushed brass finish softens reflections and pairs with both warm-toned schemes and cooler contemporary greys. Because the G4 bulb is replaceable, you can set the brightness and colour temperature to suit the room.

Frequently Asked
Does each piece look the same?
No. Each Caelith is cut from a different section of natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, tonal variation and rough lower edge differ between pieces. This is intrinsic to the stone, not a defect, and means installations of multiple units along a corridor will read as related rather than identical.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
The Caelith does not carry a published IP rating in the supplied data, so it should not be installed within bathroom IP zones (above a bath or shower, or within close proximity). It can be used outside the regulated zones, for example flanking a vanity mirror well clear of splash exposure.
Which bulb does the Caelith Small take?
The fitting takes a single G4 capsule bulb, which is not supplied with the light. Because the bulb is replaceable you can choose the brightness and colour temperature that suit the room, and change it later without replacing the fitting. Please contact us if you would like advice on selecting a bulb.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Wipe the stone gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Alabaster is porous and softer than marble, so avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners. The brushed brass surround can be wiped with the same dry cloth to remove dust without disturbing the brushed grain.
