Cactus Glass Figurine with Yellow Flower 13.9cm - Green

This glass cactus figurine brings a bright splash of green to a shelf or desk, with a single yellow flower that catches the eye. The body is a rounded, ribbed column covered in tiny raised bumps, like the skin of a real cactus, and two smooth oval pads rise from the top, one a little larger than the other. A short curved arm reaches out to one side and ends in the soft yellow bloom. Swirls and streaks of deeper green run through the glass, so the colour shifts as the light moves across it. It stands 13.9cm tall, 11.4cm across and 5.2cm deep.

We like it anywhere a touch of greenery would help but a real plant would struggle: a bookcase in a hallway, a desk in a home office or a side table in the living room. Being only 5.2cm deep, it fits on a narrow shelf where a potted plant would not, and since it is glass, it never needs watering. Set it beside ceramics or other glass pieces for a small group, or let it stand alone on a mantelpiece where the yellow flower can be seen.

The figurine is made of glass and rests on a rounded clear glass base that gives it a steady footing on a flat surface, so it needs no stand or fixing. The bumpy body and smooth pads give it two different textures to look at. Like any glass ornament it is delicate, so place it where it will not be knocked and handle it with care when moving it. To keep it bright, dust it with a soft dry cloth or wipe it gently with a damp cloth and dry it straight away. It wraps easily in tissue as a small present, and it looks its best where daylight or a lamp can shine through the green.
