Description

A plain round downlight with a matt white face and the LED built in, putting out 1080 lumens from 12W at 3000K. The warm white tone reads soft and gently yellow, closer to a table lamp than to daylight, and the spread is broad rather than narrow, so light lands evenly across a floor instead of pooling in bright spots. A driver is supplied with it. There is no dimming, so it works at full output whenever the circuit is live, which makes it a good match for a plain switch or a sensor.

This is the middle size, and we use it where a room wants several even lights rather than one fitting in the centre: kitchen ceilings, hallways, landings, bedrooms and a home office. The warm tone flatters timber, painted walls and worktops in the evening, so it suits a living space as readily as a working one. Keep it to dry rooms indoors, though. A shower zone, a utility ceiling above a sink or a covered porch asks for a sealed fitting, and this is not one.

The visible rim is finished matt white, which disappears against a white ceiling and keeps the eye on the light rather than the fitting. It is double insulated. For cleaning, switch the circuit off first, then run a dry cloth around the rim to lift dust, and leave damp cloths and sprays away from the lens. The LED is integral, so there are no lamps to buy or swap out. It carries a three year warranty. The range runs from small rounds up to a wide one, and this size is also made in a cooler white if you want a crisper light over a worktop.
