This cabbage storage jar is shaped as a whole head of cabbage, with broad, overlapping leaves rising around its sides and curling over at a wavy rim. Each leaf is moulded in relief, with raised veins and a softly dimpled texture. The lid is a cabbage top in its own right, domed and veined, and finished with a little stalk that makes a handy knob for lifting it off. It is made from stoneware, a ceramic, with a glazed finish in a fresh apple green with a soft shine. The jar is round, 14.7cm tall, 17cm wide and 16.7cm deep, so it sits neatly on a worktop or shelf without crowding it.

In the kitchen it brings a cheerful garden note to a worktop, a dresser shelf or an open cupboard, and its lid keeps whatever you tuck inside out of sight. It suits a country or farmhouse kitchen.
