Description

The Cabaret is a vertical wall light with a brass metal frame holding a clear glass cylinder shade, fitted with an integrated 8W LED at 3000K. The brass arm curves from a circular wall plate, suspending the 330mm-tall glass tube vertically alongside the wall. The LED module inside the glass casts light both up and down through the transparent cylinder, creating linear wall-washing effects and reflected light off the brass frame.

Designed for hallways, staircases, beside mirrors in dressing rooms, and flanking beds as reading lights, the Cabaret provides directed ambient light without needing a deep projection from the wall. The 145mm width and 250mm forward projection mean it fits comfortably in narrow corridors and beside doorways where a traditional sconce would protrude too far. The IP20 rating limits it to dry indoor locations — not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use.

The brass finish on the metal frame shows a warm golden tone that catches and reflects the 3000K LED output, amplifying the warmth of the light. The clear glass cylinder remains unadorned, so the light quality depends entirely on the LED colour temperature rather than frosting or texturing. The glass is held top and bottom by brass caps that double as the lamp's structural anchors. At 8W LED output, the Cabaret provides enough light for wayfinding and ambient room lighting but is not designed as a primary light source in larger rooms.

Is the LED replaceable?

The Cabaret uses an integrated 8W LED module rated at 3000K. Integrated LEDs are not user-replaceable — the entire fitting would need replacing if the LED fails. Maytoni provides a 3-year guarantee covering LED failure within normal use.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Cabaret is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It cannot be used in bathrooms, shower rooms, or any space exposed to moisture or steam.

What wall fixings are required?

The wall plate mounts to a standard UK pattress box or directly to the wall surface using appropriate fixings for the wall type (masonry plugs for brick/plaster, cavity fixings for plasterboard). The fitting weighs under 1kg, so standard 5mm wall plugs are adequate on solid walls.

Does the light shine up and down or just down?

The clear glass cylinder allows the LED to cast light both up and down through the tube, creating vertical wall-washing effects in both directions. The majority of the useful light spills out horizontally through the sides of the glass.
