Byron Outdoor 1 Light Small Wall Lantern - Graphite With Grey Reflector

The Byron is a 305mm outdoor wall lantern built around a graphite powder-coated metal frame with clear bevelled glass panels on four sides and a grey reflector plate behind the E27 bulb fitting. The lantern mounts to an external wall via a rectangular backplate and projects 152mm from the wall surface when fitted. The IP44 rating protects the electrical components against splashes from any direction, making it suitable for covered porches, side entrances, garage walls and garden feature walls where direct rain exposure is limited.

The grey reflector plate sits behind the bulb, directing light forward through the glass and casting a soft secondary glow onto the wall behind the fitting. This creates a layered lighting effect that works well for side entrances, porch doorways and garden pathways where both forward illumination and wall wash are useful. The compact 165mm width suits smaller wall spaces and pairs comfortably with other Byron fittings in Quoizel's outdoor range without dominating the wall plane.

The graphite finish is a mid-tone charcoal with a low-sheen powder coat that resists UV fading and salt corrosion in coastal areas. The clear bevelled glass edges diffract light into subtle prismatic effects when the bulb is on, particularly visible with vintage-style filament LEDs. The lantern accepts any standard E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose colour temperature and brightness according to the application. Quoizel provides a 3-year manufacturer guarantee covering defects in materials and workmanship.

What does IP44 mean for outdoor use?

IP44 protects against splashes from any direction and solid objects larger than 1mm. This lantern is suitable for covered porches, side entrances and garage walls where direct rain exposure is limited. It should not be installed in fully exposed positions where rain falls directly onto the fitting for extended periods.

What bulb is recommended?

The lantern accepts any standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Most users pair it with a 6-10W warm-white LED (2700K-3000K) for general outdoor lighting. A vintage-style filament LED creates a decorative effect visible through the clear bevelled glass.

Can it be installed on a brick wall?

Yes. The rectangular backplate mounts to brick, rendered masonry, timber cladding or composite panels using appropriate fixings. Ensure the electrical supply cable is routed through the wall and sealed with outdoor-grade sealant to maintain the IP44 protection.

Is the graphite finish resistant to coastal salt?

The powder-coated graphite finish resists UV fading and salt corrosion better than painted finishes. In coastal locations, periodic rinsing with fresh water helps maintain the finish and prevents salt build-up on the glass panels.
