Description
This bunched lemon bud vase is made from glass in a bright, sunny yellow, its whole body formed as a cluster of raised lemons. Each lemon stands proud of the next, overlapping in neat rows from the base to the shoulder, and every one carries a dimpled texture that echoes real citrus peel. The glass has a glossy, softly milky look, so light catches the curve of each fruit and the colour glows rather than sitting flat. It stands 21.8cm tall and 16cm across, with a rounded body that narrows a little at the base and a short, plain collar at the top.
Its size makes it easy to place: a kitchen table, a dresser, a sideboard or a sunny windowsill all suit it, and it sits comfortably at the centre of a dining table. The open top takes a few stems of garden flowers, a handful of leafy greenery or a small, loose bunch, and the yellow pairs happily with whites, creams, soft greens and fresh citrus tones. On its own it brings a burst of colour to a shelf or a quiet corner, and it works just as well in a bright, modern kitchen as in a cosy cottage room.
The lemons are formed in relief right across the glass, giving the surface plenty of texture to catch the light from every side. To keep the yellow bright, wipe the outside with a soft damp cloth and dry it, using a soft brush to lift any dust from the dimples. Rinse the inside between arrangements and change the water every couple of days to keep flowers fresh. We like it grouped with plain white tableware, or filled with yellow blooms as a bright, happy gift.
