Bronx Bollard Light 796mm - Black

The Bronx is a 796mm-tall bollard light with a black powder-coated aluminium column and a clear polycarbonate cylinder at the head, protected by a horizontal anti-glare grille. The grille shields the E27 bulb from direct view at eye level, reducing glare along pathways and preventing light spill into neighbouring properties. An E27 bulb up to 60W is required (sold separately).

Designed for driveways, garden paths, patio edges and front approaches, the Bronx suits domestic and light commercial applications where vertical bollard lighting is needed without the hardwiring complexity of mains-voltage ground spikes. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making the fitting suitable for exposed outdoor positions. The 155mm diameter column gives sufficient presence to mark path edges or driveway boundaries without dominating the space.

The aluminium construction resists corrosion in wet climates and coastal environments, while the powder-coated black finish absorbs daylight rather than reflecting it, keeping the bollard visually recessive during the day. The polycarbonate diffuser at the head is temperature-resistant and won't yellow under UV exposure as quickly as acrylic alternatives. At 796mm height, the Bronx positions the light source at mid-shin to knee level, which suits path lighting where ground-level visibility matters more than overhead illumination.

What bulb does the Bronx take?

The Bronx uses a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most outdoor path applications pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-12W and 2700K-3000K for soft ambient light.

Is it suitable for coastal locations?

The aluminium construction and IP54 rating make the Bronx suitable for most UK outdoor environments including coastal areas. However, direct salt spray exposure over time may affect the powder-coated finish, so periodic rinsing with fresh water is recommended in high-salt locations.

How is it installed?

The Bronx requires a stable base fixing, typically a concrete pad or paving slab with the column bolted down. Mains voltage wiring (AC 220-240V) must be run to the base of the column and connected by a qualified electrician. The bollard is not supplied with ground fixings.

Does the anti-glare grille reduce light output?

The horizontal grille shields the bulb from direct view at eye level but does not significantly reduce downward or lateral light output. Its purpose is to prevent glare when walking towards the bollard, not to dim the overall illumination.
