Description

The Bronx is a 250mm bollard light built from black powder-coated aluminium with a clear polycarbonate cylinder housing a four-tier anti-glare louvre inside. The louvre design directs light downward onto paths and driveways while restricting upward spill, reducing sky glow and preventing glare for anyone walking past the fitting. An E27 bulb sits inside the cylinder (sold separately), protected by the IP54-rated enclosure.

Designed for pathways, driveways, front gardens and commercial forecourts, the Bronx provides low-level directional light without creating hot spots or harsh shadows on the ground. The 250mm height keeps the light source below typical eye level when walking, while the 108mm square mounting base spreads the load across paving or soil. The IP54 rating makes the fitting resistant to dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, suitable for exposed UK outdoor conditions year-round.

The aluminium body resists corrosion in coastal and urban environments, and the black finish pairs with contemporary and industrial architecture without competing visually with planting or paving materials. The Bronx takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED E27 between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for effective path lighting at around 600-800 lumens per fitting.

What does IP54 mean?

IP54 means the fitting is dust-protected (limited ingress that does not interfere with operation) and splash-proof from any direction. The Bronx can withstand rain, garden hose spray and typical UK outdoor conditions, but is not suitable for submersion or direct jet-washing.

How is it installed?

The Bronx mounts via a 108mm square base plate that bolts or screws onto a hard surface (paving, concrete) or is set into the ground using a mounting spike or concrete footing. Mains cable enters through a gland in the base. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in compliance with outdoor wiring regulations.

How far apart should bollards be spaced?
