Bronx 250mm Bollard Light - Grey

The Bronx is a 250mm bollard light built from a grey aluminium cylinder with a polycarbonate top and four horizontal anti-reflective louvres around a central E27 bulb fitting. The louvres cut direct glare and restrict upward light spill, directing the majority of the light output downwards onto pathways and driveways. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction.

Designed for residential driveways, commercial car parks, garden pathways and any outdoor application where consistent low-level lighting is needed, the Bronx sits on a 108mm square base plate that bolts to concrete or paving slabs. The 250mm height keeps the light source below typical eye level when standing nearby, reducing glare for pedestrians while still providing enough vertical spread to light a 2-3m pathway width. The aluminium body resists corrosion in coastal and high-humidity environments.

The grey powder-coat finish sits between black and silver, blending with concrete paving, grey render and contemporary architectural palettes without the high contrast of pure white or black fittings. The polycarbonate shade is impact-resistant and temperature-stable between -20°C and +60°C, maintaining structural integrity through UK winter frosts and summer heat. The bollard accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or CFL bulb up to 60W, giving control over colour temperature and brightness without replacing the fitting.

What bulb does the Bronx take?

The fitting takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Most installations use a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor pathway lighting. Bulbs are sold separately.

What does IP54 mean?

IP54 provides dust protection (limited ingress, no harmful deposit) and protection against water splashing from any direction. The Bronx is suitable for fully exposed outdoor locations including driveways, pathways and gardens but is not rated for submersion or direct high-pressure water jets.

How is it installed?

The Bronx bolts to a concrete or paving slab base through the 108mm square base plate. The mains cable enters through a knockout in the base and connects to the internal terminal block. Installation requires mains electrical work and must be carried out by a qualified electrician.

What spacing is recommended for pathway lighting?

For a standard 1-1.5m wide garden path, spacing the Bronx bollards 3-4m apart provides continuous low-level lighting without excessive brightness. For wider driveways, stagger bollards on alternate sides at 4-5m intervals to create overlapping light pools.
