Description

The Bromley is a 631mm outdoor wall lantern with a hexagonal clear glass enclosure framed in die-cast aluminium finished in oil rubbed bronze. Three E14 candle bulbs sit inside the glass panels on vertical candle sleeves, with a shepherd's hook arm curving over the top and a finial cap completing the traditional lantern profile. The fitting mounts on a 254mm-wide backplate with a 298mm projection from the wall.

Designed for front doors, porch entrances, garage side doors and garden walls where a larger decorative lantern suits the scale of the building, the Bromley provides ambient downlight and side-glow through the clear glass panels. The IP44 rating protects the fitting from rain and splashing in exposed locations, making it suitable for external walls under eaves or on fully exposed elevations. The three-bulb configuration gives enough output to illuminate a 2-3m entrance area or pathway when fitted with 40-60W equivalent LED candle bulbs.

The die-cast aluminium construction resists corrosion better than pressed steel, and the oil rubbed bronze finish includes subtle gold tonal variation beneath the darker bronze surface, visible when light catches the edges of the frame. The clear glass panels are held in a sealed frame to maintain the IP44 rating, and the shepherd's hook arm and top finial add classical lantern detailing that suits Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian-style properties. Can the glass panels be cleaned?

Yes, but the glass is sealed into the frame to maintain the IP44 rating. Wipe the exterior glass with a damp cloth and diluted glass cleaner. To clean the interior, the fitting must be de-energised, removed from the wall, and the frame opened to access the glass panels — this should be done annually to remove insect debris and dust.
