Description

The Kichler Brinley is a 6 light cluster pendant with six clear glass shades shaped like traditional canning jars, suspended on individual cables from a circular brushed nickel canopy. Each shade houses one E27 bulb (sold separately) behind clear glass that shows the bulb filament, making visible-filament LED or traditional Edison-style bulbs the natural choice. The 305mm-diameter cluster spreads the six shades in a tight circular arrangement that casts overlapping pools of light below.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.5m or higher, the Brinley pairs functional task lighting with decorative presence. The adjustable drop ranges from 256mm minimum to 2870mm maximum, set during installation by trimming the cable length to position the cluster 700-900mm above a dining table or worktop. The brushed nickel finish on the canopy and shade collars pairs with both warm and cool tones, bridging traditional and contemporary interiors.

The canning jar form references early 20th-century domestic glass, but the metal finish and multi-point suspension read as contemporary rather than rustic. Each shade is open at the top where it meets the metal collar, allowing heat from the bulbs to dissipate naturally rather than being trapped inside the glass. The combined weight of six glass shades and the metal frame gives the pendant substantial presence without dominating a typical 4-6 person dining table.

What bulbs does the Brinley take?

The pendant takes six E27 bulbs up to 60W each, sold separately. Clear glass shades show the bulb filament, so visible-filament LED bulbs or traditional Edison-style filament bulbs are the common choice. A 4-6W LED filament bulb at 2700K provides warm light suitable for dining.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 2870mm maximum drop works in most domestic ceiling heights, but the pendant is typically installed with a 700-900mm gap between the bottom of the shades and the table or worktop surface. This requires a ceiling height of at least 2.5m, ideally 2.7m or higher for comfortable head clearance around the fitting.

Is the drop adjustable after installation?

The drop is set during installation by trimming the cable length. Once the cables are cut and the pendant is wired, the drop cannot be easily changed without re-wiring and potentially replacing the cable.

Can it be installed on a sloped ceiling?

The canopy is designed for horizontal ceiling mounting. Installation on a sloped ceiling would require an angled canopy adapter, which is not included and may affect the symmetry of the six-shade cluster.
