Description

The Brinley is a 6 light cluster pendant built around six clear glass jar-style shades suspended from a bronze ceiling plate on individual black fabric cables. Each shade holds an E27 bulb (sold separately) and measures approximately 100mm tall, with the cluster arrangement creating a 305mm diameter spread when viewed from below. The bronze metalwork wraps around the top rim of each jar in a caged band, giving the glass structural support and a defined industrial detail.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Brinley suits farmhouse, industrial and transitional interiors where visible filament bulbs contribute to the aesthetic. The 2600mm of adjustable cable allows the cluster to be set 600-900mm above a worktop or 700-800mm above a dining table, with the six shades creating overlapping pools of downlight when fitted with clear or amber LED filament bulbs. The pendant fits standard UK ceiling roses and the cables run independently, so individual shade heights can be staggered slightly during installation if a less uniform arrangement is preferred.

The clear glass shows the full shape of the bulb inside, making bulb choice part of the design — ST64 Edison-style bulbs are a common pairing, though standard A60 shapes work equally well. The bronze finish on the metalwork has a warm brownish tone that pairs comfortably with wood furniture, copper accents and warm-toned tile or brick. Each jar weighs approximately 150g, giving the full cluster a combined weight of around 1.2kg including metalwork and cables, which is well within the load capacity of a standard ceiling rose.

What bulbs does the Brinley take?

Each of the six shades takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED filament bulbs in ST64 Edison or A60 shapes at 2700K-3000K for a vintage appearance.

Can the drop height be adjusted?

Yes. The 2600mm of cable is adjustable during installation, allowing the cluster to be set at the appropriate height for the room. The cables can also be individually adjusted to create a staggered arrangement if preferred.

What ceiling height is needed?

The pendant works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. For a dining table or kitchen island, the cluster typically sits 700-800mm above the surface, which requires at least 2.4m floor-to-ceiling clearance to avoid the lowest shade being at head height when standing.

Is the glass delicate?

The jars are made from clear glass approximately 3mm thick. They are not fragile in normal use but should be handled with care during installation and bulb changes. The bronze cage around each jar provides some protection from knocks.
