Description
The Brillix is an outdoor LED wall light combining a black metal frame with a white polycarbonate diffuser panel, housing an integrated 9W 4000K LED. The light projects 164mm from the wall and measures 100mm across, with the polycarbonate face angled upward at approximately 30 degrees to cast light both upward and forward. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water spray from any direction, making it suitable for exposed exterior walls in UK weather.
Designed for pathway lighting, porch entrances, garage sides and courtyard walls, the Brillix directs neutral white 4000K light onto adjacent surfaces rather than into the eye, reducing glare while illuminating walkways and entrances. The angled diffuser means the fitting works best when mounted at 1.8-2.2m height, projecting light downward onto the ground and upward onto the wall surface above. The compact 100mm width allows multiple units to be spaced along a pathway or around a building perimeter without overwhelming the facade.
The black powder-coated metal body resists corrosion in coastal and urban environments, while the polycarbonate diffuser is impact-resistant and does not yellow under UV exposure like some acrylics. The integrated LED cannot be replaced, but the 9W module is rated for 30,000+ hours of operation at typical outdoor temperatures, equating to approximately 10 years at 8 hours per night. The fitting connects to mains 230V via a rear cable entry point and is compatible with standard outdoor switching or PIR sensors wired into the circuit.

Frequently Asked
Is the Brillix suitable for coastal locations?
The IP54 rating and powder-coated metal body provide protection against salt spray and moisture. For locations within 500m of the coast, periodic rinsing with fresh water will help maintain the finish and prevent salt build-up on the diffuser.
Can the LED be replaced when it fails?
No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and cannot be replaced. However, the module is rated for 30,000+ hours, which translates to approximately 10 years of typical use at 8 hours per night.
What mounting height works best?
The angled diffuser directs light downward and upward from the mounting point. Fitting the Brillix at 1.8-2.2m height provides effective pathway illumination without excessive glare at eye level.
Can it be used with a PIR sensor?
Yes. The Brillix operates on standard mains switching and can be wired downstream of a PIR sensor or photocell. Note that the integrated LED is not dimmable, so it will turn on and off at full brightness only.
