Description
The Brillix is a 9W LED outdoor wall light with a black powder-coated aluminium body and a white polycarbonate diffuser panel angled at approximately 45 degrees from the wall. The integrated LED produces 3000K warm white light that projects forward and downward in a wedge-shaped beam, making the fitting suitable for illuminating doorways, pathways and patio edges where both wall visibility and ground coverage are needed.
Rated IP54, the Brillix withstands rain, garden hose spray and coastal moisture without requiring additional weatherproofing. The sealed diffuser panel prevents dust and insect ingress while the 9W LED runs cool enough that the housing can be installed on timber cladding, brick or rendered masonry without heat concerns. The compact 100mm height and 164mm projection suit installations where low visual impact is preferred, such as alongside front doors, on garage walls or between windows on rendered facades.
The black finish is a textured powder coat over aluminium, resistant to UV fade and saltwater corrosion. The angled diffuser distributes light across a wider ground area than a flat panel, reducing the number of fittings needed to illuminate a typical 3-4m pathway run. The non-dimmable LED is factory-sealed inside the housing, removing the need for bulb replacement over the 5-year warranty period. Mounting hardware for brick, block and timber substrates is included.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP54 rating mean?
IP54 means the fitting is protected against dust ingress (the '5') and water splashing from any direction (the '4'). The Brillix can handle rain, garden hose spray and coastal moisture, but should not be pressure-washed or submerged. It is not rated for installation inside shower cubicles or directly under roof eaves where standing water collects.
Can the LED be replaced?
No. The 9W LED is factory-sealed inside the housing and cannot be accessed for replacement. Ideal Lux designs these fittings with LEDs rated for 30,000+ hours of operation, which equates to around 10 years at 8 hours per night. The 5-year warranty covers LED failure within that period.
How is the light distributed?
The angled polycarbonate diffuser projects light forward and downward in a wedge-shaped beam. This gives both wall illumination and ground coverage, making the fitting useful for doorways and pathways where visibility of both surfaces is needed. The beam spread is wider than a downlight but more directed than a bulkhead.
What surfaces can it be mounted on?
The Brillix can be fixed to brick, block, timber cladding, rendered masonry and most standard exterior wall substrates. Mounting hardware for these materials is included. The 9W LED runs cool enough that heat transfer to timber cladding is not a concern.
