Description

The Brillis is a 250mm diameter table lamp built around a polished chrome column supporting a white fabric drum shade, with cut crystal droplets suspended beneath the shade rim. The single E27 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the fabric shade, which diffuses light across the room while the crystals below catch and refract light across the chrome base and surrounding surfaces.

Designed for bedside tables, console tables in hallways and side tables in living rooms, the Brillis provides ambient diffused light rather than focused task lighting. The 250mm diameter suits narrower surfaces without overhanging, and the chrome base adds approximately 300-350g of weight to keep the lamp stable when the shade is bumped or adjusted. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor rooms only.

The white fabric shade is a tight-weave synthetic textile that shows minimal yellowing over time compared to natural fibres, and the drum cut diffuses light evenly in all directions. The crystal droplets are machine-cut acrylic rather than glass, giving the decorative element without the fragility or weight of lead crystal. The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient bedroom or living room lighting. The bulb sits inside the fabric shade, so the shape is less visible than in an open-frame lamp.

Is the lamp dimmable?

The lamp itself is not dimmable. However, if you fit a dimmable E27 LED bulb and use a compatible dimmer switch on the wall circuit or plug-in dimmer module, the light output can be controlled. Standard non-dimmable bulbs will not respond to dimmer circuits.

Are the crystals glass or acrylic?

The droplets are machine-cut acrylic. This gives the refraction and light-catching effect of crystal without the fragility or weight of lead glass. The acrylic does not yellow or cloud over time when kept away from direct UV exposure.

Can the fabric shade be cleaned?

Yes. Dust the shade regularly with a soft brush or lint roller to prevent buildup. For marks or stains, spot-clean gently with a barely-damp cloth and allow to air-dry fully before switching the lamp on. Do not immerse the shade in water or use chemical sprays, as the inner lining may discolour.
