Description

The Brillia 3-phase track power input is a mains connection point for 3-circuit track lighting systems, supplying power to the track rail and providing 1-10V dimming control across all three circuits. The unit measures 140mm long by 58mm deep and houses the connection terminals, earth bonding and dimming driver inside a white thermoplastic housing rated IP20 for indoor use.

Designed for commercial and retail track lighting installations, the power input mounts directly onto the end of a 3-phase track rail and connects to a ceiling-mounted mains supply via the terminals inside the housing. The 1-10V dimming protocol allows compatible track heads fitted to the rail to be dimmed from a separate 1-10V control interface, giving smooth fade control across multiple luminaires on the same circuit without flicker or drop-out.

The white finish matches the standard Brillia 3-phase track system from Ideal Lux, creating a continuous white line from power input through rail to track heads. The compact 37mm height projection keeps the power input close to the ceiling plane, reducing visual clutter in installations where the track is surface-mounted rather than recessed. What is 1-10V dimming and how does it work?

1-10V is a low-voltage dimming protocol that uses a separate control signal wire to dim compatible LED drivers. A 1-10V control interface sends a voltage between 1V (minimum brightness, typically 10% output) and 10V (full brightness) to the dimming driver inside the power input, which then regulates the current to track heads fitted with compatible drivers. This system requires track heads with 1-10V dimming drivers and a separate 1-10V control module (sold separately).

Is this compatible with single-phase track?

No. This power input is designed exclusively for 3-phase track systems where three independent circuits run through the track rail, allowing different groups of track heads to be controlled separately. Single-phase track requires a different power input.

What tools are needed for installation?

Installation requires a Phillips screwdriver to open the housing and secure the mains and control wiring to the terminals, wire strippers, and a voltage tester to confirm the mains supply is isolated before connection. The power input must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK wiring regulations.

Can it be painted to match the ceiling?

The thermoplastic housing can be painted with a suitable plastic primer and topcoat, but painting may void the 5-year warranty depending on the manufacturer's terms. Check with Ideal Lux before painting if warranty retention is important.
