Description

The Bridgepoint is an outdoor wall lantern with a caged seeded glass globe suspended from a curved weathered zinc bracket. The lantern head sits 334mm tall and 178mm wide, enclosed by a ribbed metal cage that protects the glass and houses a single E27 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately). The seeded glass is textured with air bubbles and imperfections that scatter light outwards, creating a softer glow than clear glass.

Designed for coastal, farmhouse and traditional exterior settings, the Bridgepoint suits porch entrances, garage side doors and garden wall positions where a compact fitting is needed. The 207mm projection from the wall provides clearance for the bulb and allows light to spread outwards rather than being trapped against brickwork. The IP44 rating protects against dust and rain splash, making the lantern suitable for sheltered outdoor positions including porches and covered walkways.

The weathered zinc finish on the aluminium frame is applied to mimic aged galvanised metal, giving a pre-weathered coastal or dockside appearance without waiting for natural oxidation. The finish varies in tone across the metal surface, with darker patches around the cage ribs and lighter areas on the backplate. The aluminium construction keeps the weight down while providing corrosion resistance in salt air and damp climates. What bulb does it take?

The Bridgepoint takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K for a traditional glow through the seeded glass.

Can it be used in fully exposed positions?

The IP44 rating protects against rain splash and dust but not direct driving rain or submersion. The lantern is suitable for sheltered outdoor positions such as porches, covered walkways and under eaves. Avoid fully exposed positions where rain would hit the glass horizontally.

How does the weathered zinc finish age outdoors?

The finish is pre-applied to mimic aged metal, so it will not change significantly over time. The aluminium underneath resists corrosion in coastal and damp climates. Wipe the frame with a soft cloth periodically to remove salt deposits and dust.

What wall surface is it designed for?

The backplate fixes to brick, rendered masonry or timber cladding using appropriate wall plugs and screws. The 207mm projection from the wall means the lantern clears most porch door frames and does not sit tight against the wall.
