Description

The Bridgepoint is a 405mm outdoor wall lantern with a weathered zinc finish, clear seeded glass globe and a wire cage guard around the bulb. The fitting takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately) and carries an IP44 rating for outdoor installation in positions exposed to rain and dust. The seeded glass shows intentional bubble texture, diffusing direct glare from the bulb while allowing warm light to spill outward.

Designed for external wall mounting on porches, covered patios, garage entrances and front doors, the Bridgepoint projects 258mm from the wall and mounts on a rectangular backplate. The wire cage around the glass globe references maritime and industrial lantern designs from the early 20th century, while the weathered zinc finish replicates the appearance of aged galvanised metal. The IP44 rating allows installation in any outdoor position with overhead cover or exposure to driving rain.

The aluminium body and zinc finish resist corrosion in coastal and damp climates. The seeded glass globe sits within the cage, held by a threaded collar at the base that unscrews for bulb replacement. At 228mm wide and 405mm tall, the Bridgepoint provides visible light output without dominating narrow porch walls or compact entrances. Kichler backs the fitting with a 3-year guarantee covering finish and mechanical function.

Frequently Asked

What does IP44 mean for outdoor use?

IP44 means the lantern is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm (dust and small debris) and water splashing from any direction. This makes it suitable for covered porches, open patios and any outdoor position where the fitting may be exposed to rain.

What bulb should I use?

The Bridgepoint takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Most users pair it with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 6-8W and 2200K-2700K to complement the vintage maritime aesthetic and the seeded glass texture.

How is the glass accessed for bulb replacement?

The threaded collar at the base of the cage unscrews, allowing the glass globe to be removed downward for bulb replacement. No tools are required.

Will the weathered zinc finish change over time outdoors?

The weathered zinc finish is applied as a factory coating to replicate aged galvanised metal. In sheltered outdoor positions the finish remains stable. In exposed coastal environments some further patina development may occur, which enhances the aged maritime character.
