Description

The Kichler Bridgepoint is a 510mm outdoor wall lantern built around a spherical clear seeded glass globe held within a natural brass protective cage. The brass frame forms horizontal and vertical bands around the glass, echoing the construction of maritime and railway lanterns from the early 20th century. A single E27 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the globe, and light passes through the seeded glass to create a softly textured wash on walls and pathways.

Designed for outdoor installation on house walls, covered porches, patios and garden entrance points, the lantern mounts on a rectangular backplate measuring 280mm wide. The 310mm projection from the wall positions the globe away from the mounting surface, casting light downward and outward rather than just onto the wall itself. The IP44 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making the fitting suitable for exposed positions under eaves or on open walls in UK weather.

The natural brass finish is unlacquered and will develop a patina over time when exposed to the elements, darkening and acquiring an aged character. The aluminium body keeps the overall weight manageable while maintaining structural strength. The seeded glass texture is achieved by introducing air bubbles and irregularities during the glassblowing process, so each globe shows slightly different patterning. Pair with a warm-white E27 LED bulb at 2700K to enhance the brass tones and glass texture.
