Description
The Brayworth is a three light semi-flush ceiling light with slender aged gold branches spreading from a central stem, each carrying small glass droplets. Because it sits close to the ceiling with a projection of just 300mm, it brings a decorative fitting to rooms that have no height for a pendant. The spread is 550mm across, so it fills a ceiling visually without hanging down into the space. Three E14 lamp holders take 6W LED bulbs and the fitting is dimmable, which suits a bedroom or a snug where full brightness is only wanted some of the time.
Semi-flush fittings solve the low ceiling problem, and this is where we would use the Brayworth: bedrooms, landings, hallways, box rooms and any space under about 2400mm where a hanging light would be in the way. It also works in a room with a sloping ceiling, where a flush ceiling light avoids the awkward angle a pendant creates. The droplets catch light and move it around, so the fitting does more in a dim room than its three bulbs suggest, and it suits a softer, more decorative scheme.
The branch frame is metal in an aged gold finish, warm and lightly antiqued so it reads as a soft colour rather than a shine. The glass droplets hang from the arms and are the part that shows dust first, so dust them with a dry microfibre cloth every few weeks with the power off and the bulbs cool. Wipe the metal with the same cloth barely damp and keep sprays and cream cleaners away from the finish. At 3.5kg it fixes to a standard ceiling point. Warm white LED bulbs bring the most out of the glass.

Frequently Asked
Is the Brayworth flush or semi-flush?
Semi-flush. It projects 300mm from the ceiling and spreads 550mm across, so it suits ceilings too low for a pendant.
What is it made from?
Metal branches in an aged gold finish, hung with small glass droplets.
What bulbs does it take?
Three E14 bulbs at 6W each, and the fitting is dimmable.
How do I clean the droplets?
With the power off and the bulbs cool, dust them with a dry microfibre cloth and wipe the metal with the same cloth barely damp.
Will it work on a sloping ceiling?
A close mounted ceiling light handles a slope better than a pendant, which would hang at an awkward angle.
Can it go in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.
