This gold photo frame is shaped from twisting ribbons tied into four full bowknots, one at each corner, with a small beaded boss at the centre of every bow. Between the corners the ribbons loop and cross in an openwork pattern that lets light through the gaps, and a fine beaded border runs right around the opening to set off the picture neatly. It is made from resin, which holds every groove of the ribbon detail crisply, and the warm gold finish catches light and shade across the raised work.
