Description

The Bowi is a 6-light chandelier built around a layered geometric frame in gold-finished metal, suspending six clear glass cylinder shades on individual arms. Each arm holds an E14 bulb fitting (bulbs sold separately) behind the glass, and the frame's overlapping rectangular borders create depth as the layers stack outward from the central hub.

Designed for dining rooms, living rooms and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above, the chandelier's 65.6cm diameter suits tables of 1.6-2m length and open-plan spaces where overhead lighting needs both reach and presence. The height is adjustable between 55.5cm and 138.5cm by shortening or extending the suspension chain during installation, allowing the fitting to be set 70-90cm above a dining table surface or higher in double-height spaces.

The metal frame is finished in a warm gold tone that sits between polished brass and antique brass in reflectivity, providing warmth without high gloss. The clear glass cylinders protect the bulbs while allowing full light output, and the open geometric frame means the chandelier reads as structure rather than mass when viewed from below. At 65.6cm wide the fitting occupies substantial visual space without overwhelming rooms of 4m width or greater.

The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations. The chandelier fits standard UK ceiling roses and the chain conceals the cable run. Each of the six E14 fittings accepts bulbs up to 40W, giving control over total output and colour temperature depending on the bulbs chosen.

Frequently Asked

What bulbs does the Bowi take?

The chandelier uses six E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs, each up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to avoid overpowering the room.

Can the height be adjusted after installation?

The suspension chain is adjustable between 55.5cm and 138.5cm during installation by shortening or extending the chain links. Once installed the height is fixed unless the fitting is taken down and the chain reconfigured.

What ceiling height is needed?

For dining table installation the chandelier typically hangs 70-90cm above the table surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above. Lower ceilings can accommodate the fitting if the chain is shortened to the minimum 55.5cm drop.

Is the chandelier suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations. Bathrooms require IP44 or higher for zones near water sources.
