Description

The Bowery is a compact outdoor wall light built from powder-coated white aluminium with a cylindrical up/down configuration and a single GU10 fitting rated to 50W. The light projects up and down through sealed safety glass at each end of the 14.5cm cylinder, casting twin beams onto the wall surface above and below the fitting. An IP54 rating protects the internal components against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction.

Designed for porches, front doors, garage side entrances and patio walls where a narrow fitting is needed, the Bowery measures 11cm wide with a 6.5cm projection from the wall, making it suitable for tight clearances next to doorways or where a low-profile fitting is required. The up/down beam pattern provides functional illumination of steps or paths below while creating a visual marker at door height without direct glare. The fitting accepts any standard GU10 LED, halogen or low-energy bulb (sold separately).

The white powder coat finish on the aluminium body resists corrosion and UV degradation in UK weather conditions. The safety glass is sealed into the cylinder with gaskets to maintain the IP54 barrier, keeping internal wiring and the lamp dry during rain or when cleaning with a hose. The cylindrical geometry and minimal detailing give the Bowery a neutral profile that pairs comfortably with both traditional and contemporary building exteriors without imposing a strong style signature.

What does IP54 mean?

IP54 indicates protection against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction. The fitting is not submersible and should not be installed in locations where it will be directly hosed or pressure-washed, but it will handle UK rain and outdoor cleaning with a garden hose at normal distance.

What bulb does it take?

The Bowery takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 50W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit a 4-7W GU10 LED in warm white (2700K-3000K) for outdoor functional lighting.

Does it cast light up and down?

Yes. The cylindrical body has sealed glass at both the top and bottom, so the single GU10 bulb inside casts light both upwards onto the wall above the fitting and downwards onto the ground or steps below.

Can it be installed on a brick wall?

Yes. The fitting mounts to a standard outdoor back box or surface-mounted wiring box on brick, render, cladding or timber. Fixings are provided. See the product manual in the Downloads tab for mounting detail.
