Description
The Bowery is a 2-light outdoor wall light with dual GU10 fittings mounted inside a cylindrical black powder-coated aluminium housing, casting light both upward and downward from a rectangular wall bracket. Each GU10 fitting accepts bulbs up to 50W (sold separately), allowing you to choose LED, halogen or CFL bulbs to suit your preference for brightness and colour temperature.
Designed for exterior walls around front doors, garage entrances, patios and garden paths, the Bowery carries an IP54 rating for protection against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction. This makes it suitable for exposed positions under eaves, on brick or render walls, and in uncovered outdoor areas where rainfall and temperature variation are present. The up-and-down light pattern creates a symmetrical wash on the wall behind the fitting, highlighting texture in brickwork or render and providing both functional illumination and architectural accent.
The cylindrical housing measures 180mm in height, 64mm in diameter and projects 115mm from the wall once the bracket is fixed. The powder-coated aluminium construction resists corrosion in typical UK coastal and urban environments, and the sealed safety glass over each lamp aperture prevents moisture reaching the bulb fittings. The matt black finish sits comfortably against dark-painted render, charcoal cladding and black window frames, and provides contrast against lighter brick, white render and natural stone.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Bowery take?
The fitting accepts two GU10 bulbs up to 50W each, sold separately. Most users install LED GU10 bulbs between 4-7W and 2700K-3000K warm white for exterior accent lighting, or 4000K-5000K cool white for security and path lighting.
Is it suitable for uncovered outdoor positions?
Yes. The IP54 rating provides protection against dust and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for positions exposed to rain and wind. For the longest service life, mounting under an eave or porch roof is preferable but not required.
How is the light pattern directed?
One GU10 bulb fires upward, the other downward, creating a symmetrical wash on the wall behind the fitting. The pattern highlights wall texture and provides both functional illumination and architectural accent. The light does not project far from the wall — it is designed to wash the surface rather than flood the surrounding area.
What wall fixings are needed?
The rectangular wall bracket requires two fixing points approximately 80mm apart vertically. Use appropriate fixings for your wall type — expanding bolts or wall plugs for brick and masonry, toggle fixings for hollow render on insulation board. The fitting weighs approximately 0.8kg once bulbs are fitted.
