Description

The Bosca is a 13.7cm recessed brick light with an integrated 5W LED module rated at 3000K, designed to be set into exterior walls, garden steps, or pathway edging. The black metal housing sits flush with the mounting surface, leaving only a rectangular aperture visible once installed, and the LED casts a horizontal wash of warm white light across paving, steps, or wall surfaces.

Built for year-round outdoor use, the fitting carries an IP65 rating against water jets and dust ingress, making it suitable for ground-level pathway lighting, step markers, retaining walls, and patio edging where the fitting is exposed to rain, garden irrigation, and pressure washing. The black finish integrates cleanly into dark brick, rendered walls, and contemporary cladding without creating visual interruption during daylight hours. The 100-240V AC universal voltage input allows the fitting to work on standard UK mains or low-voltage outdoor lighting circuits depending on the transformer used.

The 5W LED provides functional path-marking and safety lighting rather than high-output floodlighting, with the 3000K colour temperature giving a warmer tone than typical security lighting. The compact 6.5cm height and 5.4cm projection from the wall mean the fitting works in shallow wall depths and tight spaces where larger recessed lights would not fit. What depth of recess is required for installation?

The fitting requires a cavity depth of at least 6.5cm behind the mounting surface to house the LED driver and heat sink. Check the product manual linked above for exact installation diagrams and cut-out dimensions.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 5W LED module is integrated into the fitting and rated for approximately 30,000 hours of use (around 10 years at 8 hours per day). When the LED reaches end of life, the entire fitting is replaced.

Can it be used at ground level on a patio or driveway?

The IP65 rating protects against water jets and dust, but the fitting is designed for wall mounting rather than ground installation. For ground-level path lighting exposed to foot traffic or vehicle weight, a dedicated IP67 or IP68 ground recessed fitting would be more appropriate.

What colour temperature is the LED?

The integrated LED is fixed at 3000K, which gives a warm white tone closer to halogen or incandescent light than the cooler 4000K-6000K often used in security lighting.
