Description

The Bornholm is a 290mm circular outdoor LED wall light with an integrated 10W 3000K LED behind an IP65-rated aluminium frame and polycarbonate diffuser. The fitting mounts flush to external walls or soffits, with the LED casting 850 lumens of warm white light through the translucent front panel.

Designed for front doors, garage entrances, patios and garden walkways, the Bornholm provides year-round illumination in UK weather. The IP65 rating means the fitting is fully sealed against dust and water jets from any direction, so rain, snow and coastal exposure do not compromise the internal LED module. The 90mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting low-profile on narrow pathways where deeper fittings would intrude.

The graphite powder-coated aluminium frame resists corrosion and UV degradation, maintaining its finish over years of external exposure. The polycarbonate diffuser disperses light evenly across the full 290mm diameter rather than creating a harsh central hotspot, making the fitting suitable for positioning at eye level on front elevations without causing glare. The integrated LED runs at 10W on 230V mains, delivering approximately 85 lumens per watt and an estimated 30,000 hours of use before meaningful lumen deprecation.

The circular design suits both traditional brick facades and contemporary render or cladding finishes. Can the Bornholm be used in coastal locations?

Yes. The IP65 rating and powder-coated aluminium frame are designed to withstand rain, snow and coastal salt spray. Regular rinsing with fresh water will help maintain the graphite finish in high-salinity environments.

Is the LED replaceable?

The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The module is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of use, which translates to around 10-15 years at typical domestic usage patterns.

What surfaces can it be mounted to?

The Bornholm can be surface-mounted onto brick, render, timber cladding or concrete using the pre-drilled mounting holes. It can also be fitted to a standard UK back box where existing wiring is already in place.

Does it work on a PIR sensor or timer?

Yes. The fitting can be wired to an external PIR motion sensor or timer switch in the same way as any mains-voltage light fitting. This allows automated control without needing a built-in sensor.
