Description

The Bord is a compact round ceiling light that takes a single GU10 lamp, giving you full control over the output and tone by choosing the bulb to suit. It mounts directly onto the ceiling surface rather than recessing into it, so there is no need to cut a hole, and the housing accepts a standard PAR16 spotlight rated up to 10W. Buyers in the US will recognise this format as a small surface-mounted spot or flush mount ceiling light, sitting close to the ceiling with a tidy cylindrical profile. Running on 220-240V AC mains, it needs only the lamp added to be ready to use.

Its small Ø95mm footprint and 125mm projection suit spaces where a single focused light is wanted rather than broad room lighting, such as a hallway, landing, alcove or above a worktop. As a single-lamp fitting its coverage depends on the GU10 you choose, so think of it as accent or local lighting and group several across a larger room to build up an even spread. Does this ceiling light come with a bulb?

No, the Bord is supplied without a lamp so you can pick the output and colour temperature you prefer. It takes a single GU10 PAR16 spotlight up to 10W, which is a widely stocked mains-voltage fitting. Just twist the lamp into the GU10 holder once the fitting is wired in.

Is the Bord dimmable?

The fitting itself has no built-in driver, so whether it dims depends entirely on the GU10 lamp you choose. Fit a dimmable LED GU10 with a compatible dimmer switch and you can adjust the level. With a non-dimmable lamp it will run at full output only.

Can I use this light in a bathroom or outdoors?

No, the Bord is rated IP20, which means it is for dry indoor use only. Keep it clear of bathrooms, shower zones, porches and any damp or exposed location. For those areas you would need a fitting with a higher IP rating.

How should I clean the fitting?

Switch the light off and let the lamp cool, then wipe the black matt aluminium housing with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh solvents, which can mark the matt finish. A gentle wipe now and then keeps the surface looking even.
