Description

The Bolonia is a 52mm diameter cylinder pendant light housing a 10W integrated LED with CCT (Correlated Colour Temperature) switching between 2700K, 3000K and 4000K. The LED sits inside a matt black aluminium tube and casts a narrow 36° beam downwards, producing 1120-1230 lumens depending on the selected colour temperature. The pendant drop adjusts between 450mm and 2000mm on installation via the cable suspension system concealed inside the tube.

Designed for task and accent lighting over kitchen islands, dining tables, worktops and bar counters, the narrow beam concentrates light onto a specific surface rather than spreading it across a room. The CCT switching allows the colour temperature to be changed without replacing the LED — useful when moving the pendant between different rooms or when redecorating changes the wall colour and a cooler or warmer light is needed. The switch is typically on the driver unit fitted above the ceiling rose.

The matt black finish on the 52mm cylinder gives the pendant a slim profile that reads more as a directional accent than a feature fitting, making it suitable for contemporary interiors where lighting is functional rather than decorative. Multiple Bolonia pendants can be grouped in a linear run over an island or arranged in a cluster at different drops over a dining table. At 0.6kg the pendant is light enough to be supported by a standard UK ceiling rose without additional reinforcement.

The CCT switching is controlled via a switch on the LED driver unit, which is typically fitted in the ceiling void above the ceiling rose. The colour temperature can be set to 2700K, 3000K or 4000K before final installation. Once installed, changing the setting requires access to the driver unit.

Is the Bolonia dimmable?

No. The integrated 10W LED is not dimmable and should be wired directly to a standard on/off switch circuit.

What drop height works for a kitchen island or dining table?

For task lighting over a kitchen island or worktop, a drop of 700-900mm above the surface is typical.
