Description

The Bolla is a 9-light chandelier from Hinkley, built on a two-tier frame with curved brushed nickel arms radiating from a central column. Three etched glass bell shades sit on the upper tier, six on the lower, each housing an E27 bulb (sold separately, up to 60W per socket). The arms terminate in solid metal spheres that counterbalance the visual weight of the glass shades and add a distinct classical reference to the otherwise contemporary form.

Designed for large dining rooms, entrance halls and double-height living spaces, the 889mm diameter and 985mm body height suit ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. The chandelier drops from a chain-and-wire suspension adjustable between 1075mm and 4123mm on installation, allowing positioning over a dining table at 700-900mm from the table surface, or higher in a hallway where clearance is needed beneath. The brushed nickel finish presents as a warm grey-silver with low reflectivity, pairing comfortably with both warm and cool interior palettes.

The etched glass shades diffuse the light from each bulb to reduce glare and cast a soft ambient glow across the room. The two-tier arrangement distributes light both upwards and downwards from the chandelier body, filling vertical space in taller rooms. At 889mm wide, the Bolla scales to dining tables from 1.8m upwards and suits room widths of 3.5m or more without dominating the space. The Hinkley build carries a 2-year guarantee covering manufacturing defects.

What bulbs does the Bolla take?

The chandelier takes nine E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, each rated up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for dining room use.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The drop is adjustable on installation by shortening or lengthening the chain and wire before final fixing. Once installed, the height cannot be changed without taking the fitting down and re-adjusting the suspension.

What size dining table does it suit?

The 889mm diameter pairs well with dining tables from 1.8m to 2.4m in length. For tables longer than 2.4m, consider two smaller pendants or a linear suspension fixture instead.

Is it suitable for sloped ceilings?

The Bolla is designed for flat ceilings. On sloped ceilings the chandelier will hang vertically from the suspension point, which may create an off-centre visual relationship with the ceiling plane. Contact us before ordering if installing on a sloped ceiling.
