Description

The Bolla is a single-light wall fitting with a frosted bell-shaped glass shade supported by a brushed nickel double-arm frame. The two curved arms extend from a rectangular backplate and converge beneath the glass shade, with a brushed metal sphere at each arm tip where the shade sits. The fitting takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W, sold separately.

Designed for hallway circulation, bedroom reading positions beside a bed or chair, and bathroom mirror lighting where IP-rated fittings are not required, the Bolla projects 222mm from the wall and stands 216mm high. The shallow backplate and upward-facing shade suit low ceilings and narrow corridors where deeper or downward-facing fittings would intrude on headroom. The frosted glass diffuses light from the single bulb across a wider area than a clear shade, reducing harsh shadows on surrounding walls.

The brushed nickel finish on the metal frame shows a directional grain that softens reflections under both daylight and artificial light. The two spheres beneath the shade add visual weight to the bottom of the fitting, balancing the upward taper of the bell glass. The E27 socket accepts LED, halogen or filament bulbs, giving flexibility to choose colour temperature and brightness depending on the room.

The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for bedroom or hallway use.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The Bolla carries no IP rating and is not suitable for bathroom zones where splashing or condensation occurs. It can be used in hallways immediately outside a bathroom or in powder rooms with adequate ventilation.

How far does it project from the wall?

The fitting projects 222mm from the wall when installed. This suits hallways with at least 1.2m width where the projection does not reduce circulation space below comfortable passing width.

Is the glass shade replaceable?

The frosted bell-shaped glass shade is a separate component that can be removed for cleaning or replacement. Contact Hinkley or Niori for replacement shade availability.
