Description

The Blazewood is a 100W constant voltage LED driver designed to power 24V LED strip lighting, tape lights and low-voltage LED systems. The driver converts mains AC to a stable 24V DC output, maintaining consistent voltage to prevent LED flicker and colour shift across the run length. An IP67-rated metal housing seals the internal circuitry against water ingress and dust, making the driver suitable for outdoor installation, wet locations and bathroom zones where condensation is present.

Designed for architectural lighting, landscape lighting, under-cabinet runs and outdoor façade installations, the Blazewood fits into ceiling voids, recessed troughs, or outdoor junction boxes where the driver can be concealed from view. The 220mm x 68mm footprint is compact enough for tight installation spaces while still delivering 100W of continuous output. The IP67 rating means the driver can be mounted directly onto exterior walls, embedded in outdoor decking, or installed in garden lighting schemes without additional waterproof enclosures.

The metal housing acts as a heat sink to dissipate the thermal load from the internal transformer and rectifier circuitry, allowing the driver to operate continuously at full 100W output without thermal cutout. The driver is non-dimmable, so it pairs best with LED systems where constant brightness is needed rather than scenes or mood control. Input is standard 230V AC mains via hardwired connection (no plug fitted), and output terminals accept standard low-voltage cable for connection to LED strips or tape.

The Blazewood carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux and meets the necessary safety certifications for mains-to-low-voltage conversion in UK installations. The constant voltage design means it can power multiple parallel runs of 24V LED strip from a single driver, up to the 100W total load limit.

Frequently Asked

What does constant voltage mean?

Constant voltage drivers maintain a fixed output voltage (in this case 24V DC) regardless of the LED load connected, up to the maximum 100W capacity. This differs from constant current drivers which vary voltage to maintain fixed current. Constant voltage is the standard for LED strip and tape lighting.

Can this driver be used outdoors?

Yes. The IP67 rating means the driver is fully sealed against dust and protected against temporary water immersion up to 1 metre depth. It can be installed in outdoor locations, wet zones, and areas exposed to rain or condensation without additional waterproof housing.

Is it dimmable?

No. The Blazewood is a non-dimmable driver designed for constant-brightness installations. If dimming is needed, a separate PWM dimmer can be installed on the low-voltage output side between the driver and the LED strip, but the driver itself does not accept dimmer input on the mains side.

What length of LED strip can it power?

The maximum load is 100W total. For typical 24V LED strip rated at 14.4W per metre, the driver can power approximately 6-7 metres of continuous strip. Higher-power LED strip (e.g. 20W/m) will reduce the maximum run length accordingly. Check the wattage per metre of your specific LED strip and divide 100W by that figure.
