Description

The Biscari is a twin recessed LED downlight in brushed black, with two square openings set side by side in one rectangular plate. Each opening holds a round, adjustable LED module, and the body is cast aluminium with a clear glass shade. The integrated LEDs give 1,750lm at 3000K, a warm light that feels comfortable in the evening. The fitting is 22.5cm long, 12cm wide and 9.5cm high. We have no IP rating for this light, so we keep it to dry rooms indoors.

Two adjustable modules in one plate make this a good choice wherever you want to aim light at something rather than simply flood a room: a run of kitchen worktop, a picture wall, a bookcase or a long hallway. Because each module can be angled on its own, you can point one at a painting and the other at a sideboard from a single cut-out. The brushed black finish suits dark ceilings and modern interiors, where it reads as a crisp outline rather than a bright white disc. The warm 3000K light keeps living rooms and dining rooms relaxed while still giving plenty of useful brightness for the job.

The body is cast aluminium and the LEDs are replaceable, so a worn LED can be changed rather than the whole downlight. There is no switch on the fitting itself; it is switched at the wall. As a light wired into the mains, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. It weighs 0.71KG.
