The Birnane is an LED outdoor wall light with a crisp, rectangular form: an anthracite box with a slot cut across its middle, mounted on a taller white backplate. The body is zinc-plated steel, and the pairing of white and anthracite gives a clean, graphic look on a pale or dark wall alike. It is 15cm wide and 26cm high, and stands 7.5cm out from the wall. The LEDs are integrated, and the light is rated IP54, which means it is protected against dust and splashing water, so it lives outdoors on a house wall.

Its natural home is beside a front door, along a porch, on a garden wall or next to a patio where you sit out on summer evenings. The slim depth keeps it close to the wall, which counts on a narrow side path or passage. Each of its two lights gives 230 lumens at 3000K, a warm white that feels welcoming at the door rather than harsh.
