Description

The Bil is a 70mm circular recessed brick light with a white aluminium body housing a 3W 3000K integrated LED. The IP54 rating provides protection against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction, making the fitting suitable for outdoor installation in garden walls, pathway edging, patio borders and stepped outdoor areas where low-level guiding light is needed after dark.

Designed for recessing into brickwork, rendered walls or external cladding, the Bil requires a 70mm circular cut-out and back box depth of approximately 60mm for the driver and rear housing. The fitting casts a downward wash of warm white light across the surface below, marking steps, path edges and wall lines without creating upward glare. The recessed lens sits flush with the wall surface once installed, keeping the fitting profile minimal and reducing the risk of accidental contact.

The white powder-coated aluminium construction resists corrosion in coastal and damp environments, and the 3W LED draws low power while providing long-term operation without bulb replacement. The 3000K colour temperature produces warm white output that suits both residential garden lighting and commercial outdoor walkway marking. The fitting operates on AC 100-240V mains, making it compatible with UK and international installations.

The Bil requires a 70mm circular cut-out in the wall surface and approximately 60mm back box depth behind the wall face to accommodate the LED driver and rear housing. Installation into solid brick or block requires drilling and chasing for cable access.

Can this be used indoors?

Yes. The IP54 rating makes the Bil suitable for both outdoor and indoor installation, including high-humidity areas such as bathrooms, shower rooms and covered outdoor porches. It is commonly used for indoor stair marking and corridor low-level lighting.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 3W LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for long-term operation and is covered by Maytoni's 3-year warranty.

What beam angle does it provide?

The Bil casts a downward wash rather than a focused beam. The light spreads across the surface below the fitting, typically covering a radius of 300-500mm depending on mounting height, which suits pathway edging and step marking applications.
