Across the pond this format is the flush mount ceiling light, sitting tight to the surface with no drop or pendant. At 200mm across and just 55mm deep, it keeps a low, unobtrusive profile on the ceiling.

Its IP65 rating opens up far more than a standard indoor ceiling light, making it a sensible choice for covered porches, soffits, utility rooms, garages, bathrooms and any space exposed to moisture or splashing. At general lighting levels it covers around 6 to 7 m², which suits an entrance area, a small bathroom or a porch where you want clean, shadow-free illumination. The wide 110 degree beam helps it work well on lower ceilings, where a tighter cone would leave the edges of the room dim. Several units spaced along a run will light a longer hallway or a sheltered walkway.

The body is moulded polycarbonate in a white finish, a tough plastic that copes with damp and outdoor temperatures better than many alternatives.
