Description
The Beno is a square LED ceiling light with a built-in PIR motion sensor, drawing a selectable 24W or 30W and giving up to roughly 3490 lumens depending on the setting. Light spreads through a wide 110 degree beam, so the output washes evenly across the area below rather than concentrating in a tight pool. Colour temperature is switchable across 3000K, 3500K and 4000K, moving from a warm domestic tone through to a brighter neutral white. American buyers shopping for a flush mount LED ceiling light will recognise the same low-profile format here, sitting close to the surface with no visible bulb to swap. The PIR sensor brings the fitting on automatically when movement is detected.
Measuring 260 by 260 by 57 mm, the Beno suits porches, covered entrances, utility rooms, sheds and small hallways where hands-free, automatic light is useful. At general lighting levels its output covers around 11 to 12 m², enough for a porch, a modest landing or a single-car garage bay. Because it mounts flat to the surface it works well on lower ceilings and on walls beside a doorway, and the motion sensor makes it a practical choice for routes where you arrive with your hands full. It can be fitted either to a ceiling or a wall to suit the approach and the throw you need.
Built from polycarbonate with a white finish, the Beno carries an IP65 rating, so it is sealed against dust and water jets and is suitable for exposed outdoor and wet locations as well as indoor use. The integrated LED is rated for 50,000 hours, and the unit runs on 220 to 240V AC mains with the PIR control built in, so no separate sensor needs adding. This fitting is not dimmable, with brightness instead set by the 24W or 30W wattage selection. Other PIR and non-sensor ceiling lights sit alongside it in the Beno range from Kanlux.

Frequently Asked
Can the Beno be used outdoors?
Yes. It carries an IP65 rating, meaning it is fully protected against dust and against water jets from any direction. That makes it suitable for exposed outdoor positions, porches and covered entrances as well as damp indoor areas such as utility rooms and garages.
How does the built-in PIR sensor work?
The integrated passive infrared sensor detects body heat and movement within range, switching the light on automatically and turning it off again after no further motion is detected. This makes it well suited to entrances, hallways and storage areas where hands-free lighting is helpful. No additional sensor or control unit is required.
How can I clean the Beno?
Switch the light off and allow it to cool, then wipe the polycarbonate surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh solvents, which can dull the white finish. The IP65 sealing means there are no gaps for dust to collect inside the fitting.
What room size does it suit?
With up to around 3490 lumens at the highest setting, the Beno comfortably lights around 11 to 12 m² at general lighting levels. That covers a porch, a small landing, a utility room or a single garage bay. The wide 110 degree beam helps spread the light evenly across the space.
