Description
This white wooden keepsake box marks a wedding day with a lid that reads Beautiful Bride, set inside a cut-out wreath of leafy sprigs, little flowers, hearts and butterflies. Two lovebirds sit at the top of the wreath, and beneath the words a pair of interlinked wedding rings is cut through the lid, one topped with a diamond and the other with a small bow. The lettering and the cut-outs show a soft blue-grey against the white, so the design reads clearly without crowding the lid. It is a neat rectangle, 12cm wide, 10cm from front to back and 5.2cm tall, small enough for a dressing table and sized for the little things a wedding leaves behind.
We think it makes a thoughtful wedding gift, whether it is handed over on the morning of the day, tucked in with a card at the reception or given afterwards as somewhere to gather the memories. Inside, there is room for small keepsakes such as a few pressed petals from the bouquet, a ribbon, a handwritten note or a favourite trinket. Once the day itself is over it sits happily on a dressing table, a bedroom shelf or a bedside table, where the words on the lid keep the day close.
The lid is hinged on two small metal pins at the sides, so it lifts back and stays with the box rather than coming away in your hand. The inside is finished in plain white to match the outside. To keep it looking fresh, dust it with a soft dry cloth and, if needed, wipe it with a cloth that is only just damp, then dry it straight away, as with any wooden piece. For a gift, add a few dried flowers or a folded note inside before you wrap it, so the first lift of the lid holds a small surprise.
