Description

The Beacon Assist Call Input Module is a single-gang brushed stainless steel faceplate providing a momentary push switch for third-party assisted toilet alarm systems and accessible bathroom call points. The module acts as a wall-mounted trigger that connects to existing assist call control panels, allowing building occupants to activate assistance alarms via a clearly labelled accessible switch positioned at the required height.

Designed for installation in accessible WCs, changing places facilities, care homes, hospitals and public buildings where BS8300 compliance is required, the module fits standard single-gang back boxes for either flush or surface mounting. The 'Assist Call' embossed branding with wheelchair symbol provides clear visual identification of the switch function, reducing user confusion during an emergency. The momentary action prevents the switch from being left in an activated state after use.

The brushed stainless steel faceplate measures 110mm wide by 130mm high with a total projection of 35mm when surface-mounted, providing durability in high-traffic environments where plastic faceplates are prone to cracking or discolouration. The single-gang format allows the module to be installed alongside standard UK switches and sockets without requiring non-standard back box spacing. The module provides a switch contact closure output only — it requires connection to a separately-purchased assist call control panel to function.

Does it work standalone or need a control panel?

The input module provides a switch contact closure output only. It must be wired to a separately-purchased assist call control panel to trigger an alarm, buzzer, indicator light or remote alert system.

What is BS8300 compliance?

BS8300 is the British Standard for the design of accessible buildings. Compliance means the switch meets the requirements for accessible height positioning, visual identification and ease of use specified in the standard for assisted toilet facilities.

Can it be installed outdoors?

The module is designed for indoor installation in WCs, changing rooms and accessible facilities. The brushed stainless steel faceplate resists moisture and cleaning agents better than plastic alternatives, but the unit does not carry an outdoor IP rating.
