Description
The Bayview is a single-light outdoor wall lantern built around a black aluminium frame with clear bevelled glass panels and Georgian-period detailing. The lantern measures 422mm high by 228mm wide, making it suited to flanking front doors, garage entrances, or lighting larger exterior wall surfaces on detached homes. The frame includes a decorative scroll bracket, a stepped lantern head, and vertical corner posts that hold the glass panels in place.
Designed for year-round outdoor use in the UK, the lantern carries an IP44 rating, protecting the internal components from dust ingress and water splashes from any direction. The single E27 bulb fitting inside the glass enclosure accepts standard Edison screw bulbs up to 60W (sold separately), allowing flexibility to choose LED, halogen, or filament bulbs depending on light output and colour temperature preference. The clear bevelled glass diffuses light without blocking it, casting a spread of illumination across wall surfaces and entrance areas.
The aluminium construction resists corrosion in damp coastal and urban environments, and the black powder-coated finish provides a matte surface that pairs with both brick and rendered exteriors. The bevelled edges on the glass panels catch and refract light when the lantern is lit at dusk, adding visual interest to the Georgian-style frame. The lantern fixes to a standard UK exterior wall box with two mounting points behind the backplate.

Frequently Asked
What IP rating does the Bayview carry?
The lantern is rated IP44, meaning it is protected against solid objects over 1mm and against water splashes from any direction. This makes it suitable for exposed exterior walls, covered porches, and areas subject to rain and damp but not direct pressure-washing or submersion.
What bulb does it take?
The lantern takes a single E27 Edison screw bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-10W warm-white LED bulb (2700K-3000K) for a traditional warm glow that suits the Georgian styling.
Can it be installed upside-down or on a horizontal soffit?
The Bayview is designed for vertical wall mounting with the scroll bracket at the top. Inverting or horizontal mounting is not recommended as it may affect water drainage from the glass panels and compromise the IP44 sealing.
How is the glass cleaned?
The bevelled glass panels can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth and standard glass cleaner. For stubborn marks from pollen or road grime, remove the lantern body from the wall bracket to access all four sides of the glass safely.
