Description

A round faux silk shade of 40cm sits close to the ceiling on a polished chrome semi flush frame, finished in raw cocoa on the outside with Grecian bronze inside. That pairing gives the fitting two moods: a soft, warm brown while the light is off, and a deeper bronze warmth once the lamp behind it is lit. Light passes through the fabric and spills from the lower edge, so the effect is diffused rather than directional, and the chrome frame keeps a bright accent at the ceiling. It takes an E27 lamp, and we would reach for a GLS A60 LED here for an even fill across the drum.

This is one we suggest for rooms where a hanging pendant would sit too low: landings, hallways, bedrooms, a small dining room or a study with a modest ceiling height. The shade is wide enough to read as the main light in a bedroom or a box room, while the shallow body keeps everything well clear of head height near a doorway. It will dim if you pair a compatible lamp with a compatible dimmer, though neither of those comes with the fitting, which is worth planning for if you want a lower setting in the evening.

The shade is fabric over a rigid form, and the metalwork is polished to a clear, reflective chrome.
