Description

Five lamps sit behind a broad drum shade of grey faux silk, with a white laminate lining to bounce the light downwards. The frame is finished in satin nickel, a soft brushed silver that reads warmer than polished chrome. At 45cm across it is generous without being heavy, and because it holds close to the ceiling rather than dropping on a rod, it fills a room with light rather than drawing the eye to one point. We would fit LED GLS lamps here, up to 20W each.

It suits rooms where a pendant would hang too low: landings, hallways, bedrooms and dining spaces with ordinary ceiling heights. The E27 sockets spread the light across a wide area, so it can work as the only fitting in a medium-sized room. The shade hides the lamps from most standing sightlines, so what you see is an even glow rather than bright points. It is dimmable with suitable lamps and a separate dimmer, which makes bringing the level down for the evening straightforward.
