Description

Five E27 lampholders sit behind a frosted acrylic diffuser here, so the light arrives soft and even rather than in bright points. The outer shade is taupe faux silk, lined in halo gold, which warms the glow as it passes through the sides. The taupe itself is a soft grey-brown that sits quietly against off white paint and warm woods alike. At 60cm across it reads as a broad, shallow drum, and the diffuser closes the underside so there is nothing to look up into.

We would put this in a room that needs proper light from a shallow fitting: a landing, a wide hallway, a bedroom where you would rather not lose ceiling height. It sits close to the ceiling, which suits spaces where a pendant would hang too low over a walkway or a bed. The lampholders together give enough output for a living room as well, and the fitting will dim if you pair suitable lamps with a compatible dimmer; neither is supplied.
