Five E27 lampholders sit within a polished chrome frame, concealed above a wide drum shade of faux silk in ivory pearl with a white laminate lining. A frosted acrylic diffuser closes the underside, softening the view of the lamps and sending an even wash of light down into the room. The shade measures 40cm across, so it reads as a broad, calm circle rather than anything tall or fussy, and the chrome catches just enough light at the edges to keep it from looking flat.

Clean the two materials separately: a dry duster or a soft brush across the faux silk, and a barely damp cloth on the polished metal, dried off straight away so the shine is not marked. The acrylic diffuser can be wiped in the same way once the lamps are cold. It carries a one year warranty, and it is intended for dry rooms inside the house on an ordinary domestic circuit. Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated for dry indoor rooms, so choose it for bedrooms, hallways, dining and living spaces instead.
